Hi, Tonia!

Strangely (I think), we met at a bible study before you even moved to Phoenix! Then, after you had moved out here, it turned out we had even more in common as we continue to run into each other at social events, art walks & tweetups. Pretty cool. I know I’m not as outgoing and social as you are (not by far! You’re quite the social animal, Tonia!), so we haven’t seen each other nearly as often as we could have. (Sorry we missed your bowling night…)

Now, I know you’ve asked -vaguely- for pink art. Hot pink art. And I’ve begun to think a bit pink. I have one finished piece so far that Mandy insists is pink, and I think you’ll think is too mauve… but it is also purple and glittery. I’ve been trying to figure out how I might want to paint a pink fedora. I may just paint another couple canvases pink and see where they go from there. What would help is if I knew what size art you were looking for? Mini (8×10″ & smaller), small (16×20″ or 12×24″), bigger (24×30″ to 24×48″), or huge? Horizontal or vertical orientation? I really want to be able to create some art you’ll fall in love with. When we get it figured out and you find a piece (or a few) you love, we can even throw a “hanging party” to have your friends over to see your new art hanging in your home!

Also, as far as I know, you’ve never read (or listened to) any of my books. (Correct me if my memory has failed me and you actually have; I’m not perfect.) Are you a reader of books? Can I interest you in any of mine? I have ten different books in print, ranging from a YA fantasy novel to a series of mature/adult SciFi/Fantasy novels, from stories about writing stories to explorations of what it means to live your own life and be yourself, from short stories in totally fantastic settings to poetry that’s totally personal and local. I’m pretty sure we can find something you’d enjoy (if you enjoy reading).

Thanks for taking the time to at least consider supporting independent creation.

Hey, C.
Hey, C. A. – You’re one of my best new supporters; you bought this painting (which I hope you’ve found a great place for in your new home), you bought a T-Shirt, and you come by my space at the Art Walk when you’re down there. More importantly (though I believe the two are intertwined), we’re actually becoming friends. Not only having actual conversations on Twitter, but also face to face, as we attend some of the same events and have overlapping interests. Which is awesome.

Now, I’m trying out a little something with this site, and I’m sure it’ll evolve over time, so I’m starting with people I know reasonably well and who I believe will give me feedback. Which includes you. I’d like to document what people are interested in and thinking about buying, as well as what they’ve already invested themselves in. This includes my podcasts/podiobooks, which I have no real way of knowing without asking: have you listened to any of my books, and do you subscribe to my podcast? Also, I can’t recall right now whether you’ve ever purchased paper copies of my books.

Now, I don’t want to push you to buy something right now; I trust that you’ll buy when there’s something you want. (You’ve already shown that! Thank you!) But I would like to know if there’s any other pieces of my art you like or any of my books you’re considering reading & haven’t yet, so I can add them here. Or anything you’ve been thinking of getting from me to gift to someone else. Or any ideas for art you’d like me to work on. Or any other people you think would like my work, that you can connect me with.

I think that’s all for now. Thanks for taking the time to look at this, and for your comments, below:

Hi, Paul. Welcome to my personal page for you. You are literally the first person I’m setting up, here. In fact, I haven’t decided how I want to do this, so let’s pretend we know what we’re doing, k?

We’ve known each other for a while, now, via Twitter and various meetups around the valley. More importantly, we’re both creatives, so we’ve both shown at the Art Walks, downtown. Your photography is both interesting and beyond my level of skill with that medium. Right now I can’t recall if you’ve ever bought any of my books, but I’m pretty sure you don’t have any of my art hanging on your walls.

Do you, perhaps, listen to my podcast (or my individual podiobooks)? (If so, have you reviewed them anywhere?)

Are there any of my paintings you especially like (or dislike?) or any books you’ve been considering reading?

I’d love to have you buy something now, but if you can’t right now I’d at least like to add some direct, personalized links to this page for you so that, if/when you do decide to buy, you can come right back here to find them. Thanks,
